Excellent post. Looking forward to your updates regarding video games. Gaming is part of many men's identify including myself so that should be interesting. thank you for posting.
You are very welcome. Also the Metascript Method link has been updated to the most recent version of the guide just in case you wanted to check it out.
"It should be noted that bad habits are often caused by a tight web of interconnected dysfunctions and unfulfilled desires."
That's a very strong observation. I have seen all sorts of dysfunctions set off by seemingly unrelated stimuli, simply because of some traumatic association only they know. The obvious ones are eating because you're stressed. More complex is the guy who plays video games when he hears a voice in an adjacent room, because as a child he tuned to games to block out domestic violence which his child brain linked to human sound behind a wall. The recording of this stuff will let one analyze themself.
All credit to Queppet for that one. It is a big reason why the patterns of behavior seem so hard to change and can even appear immutable. One requires genuine introspective skills to see the influence of the web. When you develop the skill to see it, it will tell you what you need to change in your life to live not ony productively but also happily. Just forcing yourself to change is sub-optimal at best and abusive and worst.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I've been using a similar kind of process for over 5 years, but this sounds way more structured and elaborate.
Best of luck in your endeavor to conquer gaming! Looking forward to read about your progress.
